Arizona Operating Engineers JA&TS sponsors this employer-based Operating Engineer apprenticeship program in Casa Grande, AZ. This non-union, time-based program trains apprentices to operate heavy construction equipment across a range of project types, including highway construction, commercial development, and utility infrastructure common throughout central Arizona. Apprentices earn wages throughout the program.

The four-year program consists of 6,000 hours of on-the-job training and 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices gain field experience on excavators, bulldozers, graders, scrapers, and cranes, learning to operate equipment safely and efficiently in diverse site conditions. Technical instruction addresses equipment inspection and maintenance, operational safety, grade and plan reading, and regulatory compliance relevant to Arizona construction projects.

Completing the program qualifies graduates as journey-level operating engineers, ready for employment with construction contractors working across Arizona's expanding metropolitan and infrastructure markets.
