Lineman at Cal-Nev Power Lineman JATC

The CAL-NEV Power Lineman J.A.T.C. sponsors a registered lineman apprenticeship in Riverside, CA. This employer-sponsored program brings together California and Nevada utility employers to deliver structured, paid training in the electrical line worker trade. Apprentices earn wages throughout the program while building the skills needed to work on high-voltage electrical systems.

The four-year apprenticeship includes 7,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices learn to install, maintain, and troubleshoot overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines, operate aerial and underground equipment, and work safely within high-voltage environments. Technical classroom instruction covers electrical theory, safety regulations, and utility systems.

Graduates earn journeyman lineman status, qualifying them for work with utilities, electrical contractors, and public agencies across California and Nevada. The two-state service area of the CAL-NEV JATC expands the career reach of graduates in a region with significant and growing electrical infrastructure needs.
