About This Program
The Carpenters JATC of Greater PA – Lebanon Center sponsors this union carpenter apprenticeship in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. As a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee program, it brings together labor and management to provide apprentices in the Lebanon area with structured, paid training in the carpentry trade.
This time-based program runs four years and requires completion of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work on real construction projects under the guidance of journeyman carpenters, building competency in framing, forming, finishing, and rough and finish carpentry techniques. Classroom instruction covers blueprint reading, construction math, material knowledge, building codes, and safety practices including OSHA standards.
Graduates earn journeyman carpenter status and a Department of Labor completion certificate. The union structure of this JATC program also provides apprentices with progressively increasing wages and access to negotiated health and pension benefits throughout their training.
