About This Program
Cement Masons JATC, Dayton sponsors this union cement mason apprenticeship serving the Cincinnati, OH area. This JATC program is jointly administered by union labor and contractor partners to ensure apprentices receive training that meets both craft quality standards and the practical demands of the construction industry in southwestern Ohio. Apprentices earn pay from the start, building toward journeyman status without incurring educational debt.
The program is 3 years in length and includes 6,000 hours of on-the-job training along with 432 hours of related technical instruction. Field training covers concrete placement, surface finishing, floating, troweling, edging, and patch repair work across a variety of commercial and infrastructure project types. Classroom sessions address construction safety regulations, concrete science, hand and power tool operation, and blueprint reading.
Graduates complete the program as journeyman cement masons with union credentials recognized across Ohio's construction industry.
