About This Program

Central Ohio Lineworker Training in Columbus, OH sponsors this non-union Lineman Apprenticeship, preparing motivated individuals for careers in electrical power line installation and maintenance. Apprentices are paid from the start of the program, allowing them to earn income while developing the specialized skills the utility industry demands.

This four-year, time-based apprenticeship combines 7,000 hours of on-the-job training with 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices gain experience working with overhead and underground electrical distribution systems, operating line vehicles and aerial lift equipment, safely handling energized conductors, and adhering to OSHA and utility safety requirements. Classroom instruction covers electrical fundamentals, distribution system components, line construction techniques, and workplace safety regulations.
