Century Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc, based in Syracuse, NY, sponsors this registered HVAC Technician apprenticeship. This non-union, employer-based program provides individuals in the Central New York region with a structured four-year pathway into the HVAC trade. Apprentices earn wages throughout the entire training period, allowing them to pursue a skilled career without interrupting their financial stability.
The apprenticeship is structured around 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Working with Century Heating's experienced team across the Syracuse area, apprentices develop practical skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial heating and air conditioning systems. Technical instruction covers refrigeration fundamentals, electrical systems, airflow and ductwork, system controls, equipment diagnostics, refrigerant handling under EPA guidelines, and applicable safety and building codes.
Upon completing the program, graduates earn journey-level status as HVAC technicians and receive a U.S. Department of Labor-registered credential.
