Cherokee Millwright sponsors this Millwright apprenticeship program based in Maryville, TN. This non-union, time-based program provides apprentices with comprehensive training in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair. Participants are paid for their work throughout the entire apprenticeship.

Over four years, apprentices complete 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Field training includes hands-on work with precision alignment equipment, rigging and hoisting techniques, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mechanical component repair. Classroom instruction covers blueprint reading, mechanical theory, industrial mathematics, and safety practices relevant to heavy machinery environments.

Graduates of the program earn journey-level millwright credentials, qualifying them for skilled positions across industrial sectors including automotive manufacturing, food processing, and power generation.
