About This Program
Colossus HVAC, based in Brick, NJ, sponsors this registered HVAC Technician apprenticeship. The non-union, employer-based program is designed for individuals in Ocean County who are ready to pursue a career in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning through structured, paid training. Apprentices earn wages from the start of the program and continue to be compensated throughout all four years.
The apprenticeship combines 8,000 hours of on-the-job training with 576 hours of related technical instruction over a four-year period. In the field, apprentices work alongside experienced HVAC technicians on residential and commercial systems throughout the Brick and greater Ocean County area. Technical coursework covers refrigeration and heating fundamentals, electrical systems and controls, airflow and duct design, system troubleshooting, refrigerant handling, and applicable safety and code requirements.
Upon program completion, graduates are recognized as journey-level HVAC technicians and earn a credential registered with the U.S. Department of Labor.
