The apprenticeship spans four years and consists of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices learn to install, maintain, and repair elevators and related vertical transportation systems, developing competency in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and safety inspection procedures.
