Elevators Local 18 JATC in Las Vegas, NV offers a union-affiliated registered apprenticeship for individuals entering the elevator construction trade. With Las Vegas consistently ranking among the most active construction markets in the country, this JATC program provides apprentices with excellent opportunities for hands-on training in a dynamic commercial environment. Apprentices are paid from the start of training.

This four-year, time-based program includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices learn to install, service, repair, and modernize elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems in hotels, casinos, high-rises, and other large-scale facilities. Classroom training addresses electrical systems, hydraulics, mechanical components, safety codes, and applicable regulations.

Upon completing the program, graduates earn journeyman elevator constructor credentials and the professional benefits that come with IUEC Local 18 union membership, including collectively bargained wages, comprehensive benefits, and access to a network of skilled trade professionals in one of the nation's busiest construction regions.
