About This Program
Elite Heating & Air, based in Wahpeton, ND, sponsors this registered non-union HVAC Technician apprenticeship. Apprentices are paid from the beginning of training and work directly with experienced technicians on heating and air conditioning systems serving residential and commercial customers in southeastern North Dakota.
The four-year program includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices develop knowledge and hands-on skills in refrigeration fundamentals, electrical systems and controls, HVAC equipment installation, airflow and duct systems, system diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and EPA refrigerant handling protocols. Classroom hours provide structured technical education to support field learning.
Upon completing the apprenticeship, graduates earn journey-level HVAC technician credentials.
