About This Program
Excel Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., an employer-sponsored non-union program based in Greenwood, Indiana, offers a registered HVAC Technician apprenticeship. Apprentices receive pay throughout the four-year program, building a solid technical foundation while contributing to real residential and commercial service calls from the beginning.
The program includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices gain hands-on skills in installing and servicing heating and cooling systems, reading wiring diagrams and technical manuals, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, managing refrigerants within EPA guidelines, and meeting Indiana's building code requirements.
