About This Program

The Houston Carpenters & Millwrights JATC sponsors this union Millwright apprenticeship program in Pasadena, TX. Located in the heart of the Houston petrochemical and industrial corridor, this JATC program offers apprentices direct access to one of the most active industrial job markets in the country. Apprentices are paid throughout the program and receive the benefits of union membership.

The four-year program consists of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work alongside experienced millwrights on machinery installation, precision alignment, rigging operations, and maintenance of industrial mechanical systems common in refinery and chemical plant environments. Classroom instruction builds on field experience with coursework in blueprint reading, mechanical systems, industrial safety, and mathematics.

Graduates achieve journey-level millwright status and enter a workforce with significant demand from refineries, petrochemical plants, and manufacturing facilities throughout the greater Houston area. What to Expect as a Millwright Apprentice

Duration

4 years of combined on-the-job training and classroom instruction

Paid Training

You earn a wage from day one, starting at a percentage of the journeyman rate and increasing as you progress
