About This Program
Ironworkers Local 584 JATC sponsors a registered union ironworker apprenticeship in Tulsa, OK. Operating through a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, this program equips apprentices with the technical and hands-on skills needed to thrive in the ironworking trade across northeastern Oklahoma and surrounding areas. Apprentices are paid from the start of the program.
The apprenticeship is four years long, structured around 6,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. On active jobsites, apprentices work alongside journeymen to develop skills in structural steel erection, rebar placement, crane rigging, and welding. Classroom sessions provide instruction in OSHA safety requirements, blueprint reading, rigging mathematics, and ironworking fundamentals.
