About This Program
J.M. Heating and Air Conditioning sponsors this registered HVAC Technician Apprenticeship in Monroeville, PA. This employer-sponsored, non-union program provides a paid training path for aspiring HVAC technicians in the Pittsburgh metro area. Apprentices are paid throughout the entire program, gaining valuable field experience without the cost burden of traditional schooling.
The apprenticeship lasts four years and is structured around 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work hands-on with heating and cooling systems on residential and commercial jobs under the guidance of experienced technicians. Instructional hours address refrigeration fundamentals, electrical troubleshooting, ductwork and airflow, heat load calculations, system controls, and EPA refrigerant certification standards.
