About This Program

KONE Elevator sponsors a registered Elevator Constructor apprenticeship in Chesapeake, VA. As a global leader in elevator and escalator manufacturing, maintenance, and modernization, KONE provides apprentices with training grounded in current industry technology and best practices. This non-union program offers paid training throughout its full duration.

The apprenticeship runs four years and includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training alongside 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work with KONE's experienced field teams learning to install, service, and maintain elevators, escalators, and automatic building doors. Technical instruction covers electrical systems, mechanical and hydraulic principles, safety standards, and KONE-specific product knowledge.
