Millwright at Marquette Carpenters and Millwrights Training Center

The Marquette Carpenters and Millwrights Training Center sponsors this non-union Millwright Apprenticeship program in Negaunee, Michigan. Located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, this paid apprenticeship provides a structured path into the industrial trades for individuals interested in machinery work across the region's manufacturing, mining, and industrial sectors.

The four-year program consists of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work hands-on installing and aligning industrial machinery, using rigging and lifting equipment, performing basic welding, and maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems. Classroom instruction covers trade mathematics, mechanical theory, industrial safety, and blueprint reading to reinforce the skills developed on the job.

Graduates of this program earn journeyman millwright credentials and are prepared for skilled employment in Upper Michigan's industrial landscape.
