About This Program
MidAmerica Millwright Training Center sponsors this non-union Millwright Apprenticeship in Bettendorf, Iowa. This employer-sponsored program offers a structured, paid training pathway for individuals looking to enter the industrial trades and develop the hands-on skills needed to install and maintain complex mechanical systems in manufacturing and industrial environments.
The program spans four years and includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices gain experience installing and aligning machinery, working with conveyor and power transmission systems, performing precision measurements, and applying welding and rigging techniques. Classroom courses cover industrial safety, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical blueprints, and trade mathematics.
Graduates of the MidAmerica program earn journeyman millwright credentials and are prepared to work across Iowa's diverse industrial base, including manufacturing plants and processing facilities.
