The NJ Council of Master Plumbers sponsors this registered Plumber/Pipefitter apprenticeship in Maple Shade, NJ. This non-union, council-administered program prepares apprentices for professional careers in the plumbing trade through a combination of supervised field work and structured classroom instruction. Apprentices are paid throughout the program from day one.
The apprenticeship spans five years and requires 8,000 hours of on-the-job training alongside 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work directly with licensed plumbers, gaining experience in pipe layout and installation, fixture setting, supply and drainage systems, and water heater and appliance connections. Technical instruction covers New Jersey plumbing codes, safety practices, and the applied mathematics and theory relevant to the trade.
