About This Program

Northwest Lineman College – Texas in Denton, TX sponsors this non-union Lineman Apprenticeship, offering a paid training pathway into the electrical power line trade for individuals in Texas and the surrounding region. The Denton campus provides apprentices with access to quality instruction and real-world utility field experience from the start of their training.

This four-year, time-based program combines 7,000 hours of on-the-job training with 576 hours of related technical instruction. Classroom sessions cover electrical fundamentals, line construction, hardware identification, and regulatory compliance.

Graduates of the program earn journey-level lineman credentials, positioning them well for employment with Texas utilities, rural electric cooperatives, city-owned power departments, and electrical contractors. Texas continues to see significant energy infrastructure investment, making the job outlook for qualified linemen in the state particularly strong.
