About This Program

The SE WI Area Millwright/PileDriver JAC sponsors this union Millwright apprenticeship program in Pewaukee, WI. Jointly administered by labor and management, this JATC-affiliated program trains apprentices in both millwright and related heavy construction skills, giving graduates a broader foundation in industrial and civil construction work. Apprentices are paid from their first day on the job.

The four-year program requires 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices develop skills in industrial machinery installation and alignment, rigging and material handling, hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance, and pile driving fundamentals specific to the program's dual-trade scope. Classroom instruction covers blueprint reading, mechanical theory, safety standards, and trade mathematics.

Upon completing the program, graduates hold journey-level millwright status with additional exposure to piledriving operations — a combination that broadens their employment options across both industrial maintenance and heavy construction sectors in southeastern Wisconsin and the broader Great Lakes region.
