Tanner Electric Cooperative Lineman Apprenticeship Committee in North Bend, WA sponsors this employer-based, non-union Lineman Apprenticeship, offering a paid training program for individuals looking to work in the electric cooperative sector. As an apprentice with Tanner Electric Cooperative, you join a member-owned organization and gain hands-on experience maintaining the distribution system that serves the local community.
The apprenticeship runs four years and includes 7,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices learn to install and maintain overhead and underground electric distribution lines, operate cooperative utility vehicles and aerial equipment, work safely around energized conductors, and comply with OSHA and utility safety standards. Classroom instruction covers electrical theory, cooperative utility operations, line construction techniques, and applicable codes and regulations.
Upon completion, graduates earn journey-level lineman credentials and are prepared for continued service with Tanner Electric Cooperative or employment with other electric cooperatives and utility employers across Washington State.
