About This Program
The Texas Carpenters and Millwrights Houston Training Center sponsors this Millwright apprenticeship program located in Pasadena, TX. This non-union program is designed to prepare apprentices for skilled millwright work across the Gulf Coast's active industrial sector, including petrochemical, refining, and manufacturing environments. Apprentices are paid throughout the duration of their training.
The program runs for four years and includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training paired with 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices receive hands-on training in installing and aligning industrial machinery, rigging and lifting operations, hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance, and precision measuring techniques. Classroom instruction covers blueprint interpretation, mechanical theory, industrial math, and safety practices applicable to heavy industrial environments.
Graduates complete the program as journey-level millwrights ready for employment with industrial contractors and plant operators throughout the Houston area and beyond.
