Total Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. sponsors this registered HVAC Technician apprenticeship in Hagerstown, MD. This non-union, employer-sponsored program offers a structured, paid entry point into the HVAC trade for individuals in the western Maryland and tri-state area. Apprentices begin earning wages immediately and continue to do so throughout the full 4-year training period.

The time-based program includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Working alongside Total Comfort's experienced technicians, apprentices develop hands-on skills in HVAC system installation, routine maintenance, and service and repair of heating and cooling equipment. Technical coursework covers refrigeration theory, electrical fundamentals, controls, troubleshooting, energy efficiency, and applicable safety codes and regulations.

Graduates who complete the program are qualified for journey-level employment as HVAC technicians. The registered apprenticeship credential recognizes their competency across the full scope of HVAC work and positions them for advancement in a trade with strong, consistent demand in the residential and commercial markets of the Hagerstown region and beyond.
