About This Program
Tri-State Drywall sponsors this employer-based drywall installer apprenticeship program located in Sioux City, IA. This non-union program offers a hands-on training pathway for individuals in the tri-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota who want to build a career in the drywall installation trade.
The three-year program consists of 6,000 hours of on-the-job training and 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices develop practical skills in measuring, cutting, and installing drywall panels on commercial and residential projects, as well as working with metal stud framing, fire-rated systems, and acoustical assemblies. Technical coursework addresses safety practices, reading construction plans, and proper use of hand and power tools. Apprentices are paid throughout the training period.
Graduates leave the program prepared to work as skilled drywall installers on a wide variety of construction projects. Tri-State Drywall's employer-led approach ensures training is directly tied to the demands of the regional construction market.
