About This Program
Western Missouri Millwrights JAP sponsors this non-union Millwright Apprenticeship program in Kansas City, Missouri. This employer-sponsored, paid apprenticeship provides a structured and practical pathway into the millwright trade for individuals looking to build careers in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair across the greater Kansas City region.
The program spans four years and includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices gain hands-on experience installing and aligning industrial machinery, operating rigging and hoisting equipment, performing basic welding, and servicing hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Classroom instruction covers mechanical theory, precision measurement, industrial safety, blueprint reading, and trade mathematics to complement field experience.
