Welder License Requirements in South Carolina

South Carolina does not require a statewide occupational license for general welders. The South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Board does not issue a welder-specific individual license. Boiler and pressure vessel welding is regulated by the SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (https://llr.sc.gov/). Employer certifications per AWS or ASME may be required.
