Welding Technology/Welder

Welding Technology/Welder is a certificate program of two to four years offered at Manhattan Area Technical College, a public institution in Manhattan, KS. This program is part of the welding technology field (CIP 48.0508) and provides comprehensive training in welding processes, metallurgy, blueprint reading, and fabrication techniques used in industrial and construction environments.

Manhattan Area Technical College also offers a shorter Welding Technology/Welder certificate (1 to 2 years) as well as related programs including Carpentry/Carpenter at both certificate levels, Electrical and Power Transmission Installation/Installer, General; Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration Maintenance Technology/Technician; and Network and System Administration/Administrator. Students can expect hands-on lab training in multiple welding methods including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
