About Spelman College
Spelman College is a private nonprofit historically Black liberal arts college for women located in Atlanta, Georgia. It is one of the most recognized HBCUs in the United States and is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium. Spelman offers a four-year undergraduate education grounded in the liberal arts and sciences.
The college offers bachelor's degree programs across disciplines including biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, English, history, mathematics, psychology, and sociology, among others. Spelman is particularly noted for its strong pre-health and STEM pipelines, producing a significant number of Black women who go on to earn doctoral degrees in science and engineering fields.
