Lineworker

The Lineworker program at Yavapai College is a one- to two-year certificate program offered by this public institution in Prescott, AZ. Situated within the electrical power line installation field (CIP 46.0303), this program prepares students for careers installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power lines and utility distribution systems as lineworkers for electric utilities and related employers.

Yavapai College also offers related programs in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications, Gunsmithing at both certificate levels, Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology, and Diesel Mechanics Technology. Students in the Lineworker program can expect training in electrical theory, pole climbing and rigging, overhead and underground line construction, transformer installation, and safety practices required for work on energized and de-energized utility systems.
