About This Program

Bowden Masonry in Nettleton, MS offers a registered non-union Mason apprenticeship for individuals ready to start a hands-on career in the masonry trades. Apprentices are paid throughout the program, allowing them to earn a living wage while developing professional-level skills alongside experienced masons.

This three-year, time-based program includes 6,000 hours of on-the-job training and 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work directly on construction projects, learning to lay brick, block, and stone; prepare and apply mortar; use masonry tools safely; and execute accurate structural layouts. Technical coursework reinforces field training with instruction in construction math, safety regulations, material selection, and blueprint interpretation.

Completions receive journey-level mason status, qualifying them to work independently across a variety of residential and commercial masonry projects in Mississippi and beyond. The masonry trade continues to see consistent demand in construction markets of all sizes, and journeyman credentials provide a stable foundation for a long-term career.
