About This Program
Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local Union #2, serving the Syracuse district through its Liverpool, NY administrative office, offers this employer-sponsored Mason apprenticeship for individuals looking to start a skilled trade career in masonry. Apprentices receive wages from the beginning of training, making this a financially practical path into the construction industry.
The 3-year program combines 6,000 hours of on-the-job training with 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices develop hands-on skills in bricklaying, block and stone work, mortar mixing and finishing, blueprint reading, and construction site safety. Classroom instruction covers masonry theory, materials, construction mathematics, and the safety standards that apply to masonry work.
Upon completion, graduates earn journey-level mason status and are equipped to work independently across residential, commercial, and institutional masonry projects throughout Central New York.
