About This Program
FD Masonry sponsors this non-union Mason Apprenticeship program located in St. Louis, MO. The employer-sponsored, time-based program is registered with the federal apprenticeship system and provides paid, hands-on training for individuals pursuing a career in the masonry construction trade.
The program runs for 3 years and combines 6,000 hours of on-the-job training with 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices develop skills in brick, block, and stone laying; mortar preparation and application; job site blueprint reading and layout; and safe use of masonry tools and equipment. Technical coursework covers trade mathematics, masonry materials and methods, construction drawings, and occupational safety standards.
Graduates earn journey-level mason credentials upon program completion, qualifying them for a full range of masonry work in the St. Louis area and beyond. A completed apprenticeship demonstrates professional competency to employers and positions graduates for higher wages, more complex project work, and long-term career growth in the skilled construction trades.
