About This Program

MANASOTA MASONRY APPRENTICESHIP GNJ, located in Sarasota, Florida, is an employer-sponsored group non-joint registered apprenticeship program for aspiring masons in the Sarasota region. This non-union program is structured to give apprentices both practical field experience and technical knowledge while earning a paycheck throughout their training.

The apprenticeship is three years in duration and includes 6,000 hours of on-the-job training combined with 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices work alongside skilled masons on live construction projects, learning to lay brick, block, and stone for a variety of structures. Technical coursework addresses construction safety regulations, trade mathematics, material identification, and the use of construction documents and blueprints.

Upon successfully completing the program, apprentices graduate as journey-level masons. This credential qualifies them for independent work in the construction industry and positions them well for continued growth in Florida's robust building market, including opportunities in residential, commercial, and restoration masonry.
