The Philadelphia Bricklayers & Allied Crafts JAC (LU1) sponsors this union Mason apprenticeship in Philadelphia, PA. Jointly administered by union and employer partners, this JATC program upholds industry training standards for bricklayers and allied craftworkers throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

This time-based program runs three years and includes 6,000 hours of paid on-the-job training and 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices train alongside journeymen on commercial and residential projects, developing skills in brick, block, and stone laying, structural masonry construction, mortar and grout application, and finished surface work. Classroom sessions address blueprint reading, safety regulations, trade calculations, and construction methods.

Graduates earn journeyman status and union credentials recognized across the industry. Membership in Local 1 provides access to negotiated wage scales, health coverage, and pension programs.
