Mason at Thornton Masonry Enterprises

Thornton Masonry Enterprises sponsors this non-union Mason Apprenticeship program located in Springfield, MO. The employer-sponsored, time-based program offers paid training for individuals entering the masonry trade, with a focus on developing practical field skills under the guidance of experienced craftspeople.

Apprentices complete 3 years of training that includes 6,000 hours of on-the-job experience and 432 hours of related technical instruction. Field training covers brick, block, and stone laying; mortar preparation and application; blueprint reading and job site layout; and safe use of masonry tools and equipment. Classroom instruction addresses trade mathematics, masonry materials and methods, construction drawings, and safety regulations.

Graduating from the program results in journey-level mason credentials, which are recognized by employers across the residential, commercial, and institutional construction sectors.
