About This Program
The Utah Masonry Council sponsors this registered non-union Mason apprenticeship based in Salt Lake City, UT. As an industry council representing masonry contractors across the state, the program connects apprentices with experienced employers and provides structured training aligned with national apprenticeship standards. Apprentices receive paid training throughout the three-year program.
The apprenticeship includes 6,000 hours of hands-on, on-the-job training paired with 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices learn bricklaying, block construction, stone work, mortar mixing and application, and safe job site practices under the supervision of skilled journey masons. Classroom coursework addresses blueprint reading, masonry materials, construction mathematics, and workplace safety.
