About This Program
WAL Masonry Corp. in Claremont, NH offers a registered non-union Mason apprenticeship for individuals ready to enter the masonry trade through a paid, structured training program. Located in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire, the program provides hands-on experience on construction sites across the area.
This three-year program includes 6,000 hours of on-the-job training and 432 hours of related technical instruction. Apprentices develop practical masonry skills working with brick, block, stone, and mortar on real job sites. Training covers layout and measurement, mortar mixing and application, cutting and fitting masonry units, joint finishing, and scaffold safety. Classroom instruction supports field training with coursework in trade safety, construction blueprint reading, masonry math, and material science.
Upon completion, graduates earn journey-level mason credentials recognized throughout the construction industry. New Hampshire's construction activity, combined with a limited pool of trained tradespeople, creates favorable conditions for skilled masons entering the workforce with recognized apprenticeship credentials.
