Barbering/Barber

The Barbering/Barber certificate program is offered by Gould's Academy, a private for-profit institution located in Bartlett, TN. This one- to two-year certificate program falls within the personal and culinary services field (CIP 12.0402) and trains students in hair cutting, styling, shaving, and other barbering services, as well as the foundational knowledge needed to obtain a state barber license.

Gould's Academy also offers a Cosmetology/Cosmetologist, General certificate program, providing students with options across related personal care and beauty services fields. Students in the Barbering/Barber program can expect both classroom instruction and practical hours covering hair care techniques, skin care, sanitation and safety practices, and the business fundamentals of operating a barbershop or working in a salon environment.
