Medical/Clinical Assistant

Medical/Clinical Assistant is a one- to two-year certificate program at Peninsula College, a public institution in Port Angeles, WA. This program is part of the medical assisting technology field and trains students to perform both administrative and clinical duties in physician offices, outpatient clinics, and other ambulatory care settings, including patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, and EHR documentation.

In the medical assisting field, certificate programs at this level serve as an entry point to clinical support roles and may support eligibility for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) examination. Peninsula College also offers a longer Medical/Clinical Assistant certificate at the two- to four-year level, as well as Medical Office Management/Administration, Carpentry/Carpenter, Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology, and Welding Technology. Students can expect both classroom and laboratory-based clinical skills training.
